Banten, February 8, 2026 — PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) has received the Golden Leader JMSI Award, recognizing the company’s leadership and measurable commitment to advancing workforce development as part of its broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.

The award, presented during the Golden Leader JMSI Awards ceremony organized by the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI), acknowledges IWIP’s consistent efforts in strengthening the social pillar of ESG by enhancing local human capital in North Maluku Province.
IWIP was recognized for successfully training more than 65,000 workers, transforming non-skilled labor into skilled industrial professionals. This large-scale workforce development initiative has become a key foundation for industrial employment absorption while contributing to regional economic growth.
Roslina Sangaji, General Manager of Human Resources at IWIP, stated that the award reflects the company’s long-term commitment to integrating sustainability principles into its core operations.
“For IWIP, ESG is not merely a compliance framework, but a strategic foundation. Investing in local workforce development is central to ensuring that industrial growth goes hand in hand with community empowerment and long-term regional prosperity,” she said.
Strengthening the Social Pillar of ESG
As part of its ESG implementation, IWIP conducts structured and large-scale training programs covering industrial technical competencies, occupational health and safety (OHS), and operational skills aligned with industry standards.
According to IWIP’s Human Resources Department data as of January 2026, the training programs have reached 65,254 participants, the majority of whom originate from North Maluku and surrounding areas near the industrial zone.
The programs are designed to directly link training with employment opportunities. Graduates serve as a primary talent pool for IWIP and its tenant companies, reinforcing a sustainable labor ecosystem within the industrial park.
This integrated approach reduces local skills gaps, increases workforce competitiveness, and supports inclusive economic development in North Maluku — aligning business expansion with measurable social impact.
Governance and Transparent Recruitment
Beyond workforce training, IWIP also reinforces the governance pillar of ESG through transparent, competency-based recruitment systems and equitable access to employment opportunities for local communities.
By prioritizing pre-employment capacity building and structured workforce preparation, IWIP ensures accountability, fairness, and long-term sustainability in its labor absorption process.
Chairman of JMSI, Teguh Santosa, stated that IWIP demonstrates consistent leadership in responsible industrial development.
“Prioritizing human development as a strategic objective is essential for sustainable industry. A strong industry is one that grows together with its community,” he said.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ferry Juliantono, appreciated the role of industrial players, including IWIP, in strengthening local workforce capacity and supporting inclusive regional economic growth.
Driving Sustainable Industrial Development
As a nickel-based industrial park located in Weda Bay, Central Halmahera, North Maluku, IWIP continues to integrate ESG principles across its operations. Workforce development is positioned as a long-term investment to ensure that downstream industrialization progresses alongside human capital enhancement.
The Golden Leader JMSI Award further affirms IWIP’s position as an industrial leader committed to embedding ESG principles into sustainable industrial growth and community development.
